Reflection

Mrs. Evelyn Vera Cruz introduced Photoshop as our topic for this last grading. I found our topic very interesting. We have lots of activities such as, how to edit or add a color to a hair, how to apply black and white to the picture, how to use the clone stamp, how to use healing stamp tool and a lot more.
I have a little background about Photoshop so it’s easy to accomplish those activities ma’am had given us. To make a poster or to make a cover of the graduation souvenir is our project for this grading. I’d chosen poster as my project but I found it hard to do it. Ma’am discussed only the basic so I’m not still familiar on the different tools in Photoshop. In order to accomplish my project, I’d search on YouTube how to use those different tools in Photoshop. It took me many days to finish my project but at last I made a very cool poster made and designed by me.
Moving on, I will always remember all the things our ICT teacher had planted in me. Because I know that these things will help me in the future.

My Dream, My Future

I don’t like thinking too much about the future, after all we can only live in the present moment, and thus, we should focus on that. But there’s something that I’m thinking more lately, about what I will be in the future and that’s helping me to get a lot of motivation.
As a highschool student, I have to put much thought into the future. Preparing for college takes forethought and initiative so I’ve often thought about where I would be years from now. No one can predict my future and no one can tell what will be my life in the next five years from now. There’s a possibility that I will die or there’s a possibility that I will have my own family, I just can’t tell. I always wanted to see what my life would be like in the future, what will be my career and what will my life become? As I reflected back on my childhood, I have many dreams and aspirations that I would like to accomplish in the future. In ten or twewty years, I can see myself having many goals accomplished, if not accomplished, I will be working on accomplishing thise goals to fulfill my life. I know it’s not easy to know my life in the future but I just can’t stop thinking about it.
What am I going to become in the future? Quite a cliched question indeed, but sometimes thinking about the distant future actually drives hopeful peaople just like me to continue pushing and thriving despite the hard challenges that come our way. Nevertheless, contemplating on the future doesn’t always come easy since no one really knows if it will ever go way we think it would. But I just hope that my dream will come true, to run an art academy and to have a very happy family.

Change Starts With Me

What’s change? In the dictionary, the definition of change is the act or an instance of making or becoming different or an alteration oou experience r modification.
To me, change is something new and you experience changes throughout your life. It can be a good thing but it can also be bad when it is forced on you and you have no control over it. Everyone has experienced change and will experience many more in the future because change is a natural part of life. Nothing is permanent in this world except for change. Anyone can start an intiative to change by applying the words of Mahatma Gandhi: “Be the change you want to see in the world. Start by being scrupulously honest yourself if you want to see an end to corruption. Start looking at your own patterns of consumption and waste if you care about environment.
Start but don’t stop there. Starting with you can inspire others to follow your examples. Never over-estimate your power to change others because you can’t. Never under-estimate your power to change yourself because you can.

My Reflection for the Third Grading Period

It's hard to believe that my amazing journey in my High School life is nearly coming to an end. The journey has been so much more enjoyable than I initially expected. This grading our teacher introduced to us exciting topics.

We had five activities in this grading namely: HTML Links, HTML Frameset, HTML iframe, HTML Table and Table Heading, HTML Ordered and Unordered List. I accomplished all these activities through the help of very responsible ICT teacher. Actually, this grading was never been easy. I had a problem of my time. My teammates and I were very busy in our Investigatory Project(IP)for maybe months? There were couple of times that I have not attended my class, not passing my requirements on time(on my other subject), and missed a lot of quizzes. But still, I tried my very best to catch up. I borrowed the notes of my classmates and asked my teachers for make-up quizzes.

After this holiday break, classes will resume again and I am expecting the warm welcome of the Third Periodical Examination. The quarter is not yet over. (kaya pwede pa akong makabawi ^_^) So, I need to review in order to get high scores. Just Hoping ;).

New Year!!...New Me!!

The New Year is right around the corner. Will you spend the next month trying to decide how to be better? Wishing for a change that will surely make you a happier, healthier, more focused person? Mapping out New Year’s resolutions and hoping you’ll be able to stick to them? I’ve done that in the past – haven’t we all?

Well this year I want to do it the same way but I'll just add something I haven't done before like having a throwback. This year I want to spend January remembering what I’ve done right and what I love about myself. This year I want to resolve to strengthen what is already strong. To focus on the best parts of my today and hope for more of those in the future.

Another thing that I want to do this year are the 5 STOPS.  (I'd read/got these 5 STOPS thingy from the book FILOA of GeArra, an authorFirst STOP, Stop focusing on what you don't want to happen. This year I'll try to focus on what I want to happen. Positive thinking is at the forefront of every great story of success. Second STOP, Stop holding grudges. What I mean here is I'll try not to live my life with hate in my heart. I know that I'll end up hurting myself more than the people I hate. As they said, "Forgiveness is the answer". I'll let go and find peace!!. Third STOP, Stop berating myself for old mistakes. Yes, we all make mistakes, have struggles, and even regret things in our past. This new year is another chance to make and change my day and my future. Fourth STOP, Stop being scared to make mistake. I'll give it a try to everything in this world this 2015. If not, I'll just end up regretting the things I did not do far more than the things I did. Last STOP, Stop trying to hold on to  the past. I can't start the next chapter of my life if I kept on re-reading my last one. It's okay to have a throwback but I'll always remember that we're not living in the past but in the present and there's still the what they call the future.

As David K. Williams points out in his article on Forbes.com, it's not always easy to stick to the goals I set on January 1 - but the important thing is to keep trying. I'll do my best not to give in or quit, I'll always keep going until the year ends. I hope that this goals of mine for this year will improve my life.

TRUE Essence of Christmas

Everyone wants Christmas to be meaningful. Christmas is definitely the season for gifts and shopping. During Christmas, a lot of people go to malls to buy various gifts to be given to their friends and loved ones. People just need to spend more during Christmas season. The effect? – traffic jam, growing credit card debts, lots of to-do lists, etc. I came across to a different view about Christmas and it’s what they call the “Advent Conspiracy Movement“. It is a movement started by Rick McKinley, a pastor of Imago Dei in Portland, Oregon. It capitalizes on this feeling by encouraging people to “spend less” and “give more” which is the true essence of Christmas.

The wisest man who ever lived said, "There is more happiness in giving than in receiving." Do you believe in this principle? If so, the perhaps you have wandered what kind of giving really produces that deep sense of happiness that eclipses receiving? Or have wondered what kind of giving is the most valuable. There are a lot of things to give but I came to think of seven avenues of giviing that can provide sense of happiness and satisfaction beyond the retailers bottom line. Honesty, Respect, Openness, Concern, Enthusiasm, Assistance and the most valuable one, Time. These things all come the heart. When you give from your heart, you put yourself in line to experience a deeply rewarding truth. There really is more happiness in giving than there is in receiving.

I guess with the current recession, this Advent Conspiracy Movement is appropriate for us. It goes by the line ”Love All, Spend Less, Give More.” The true essence of Christmas relies not on the gifts which commands you to spend more but on the love and unity that each one of us should build. Spend less on gifts and more on relationships! Merry Christmas everybody! :)
